Abstract: The principal directions in the development of construction material industry include expansion of raw material sources, quality improvement of raw materials subjected to preliminary treatment, application of modifying components, constructive and technological modernization of manufacturing process. Manufacturing of ceramic bricks is one that dominates this industry. We know that there isn’t enough conditional clay suitable for ceramics production in most East regions of Russia and West Siberia. However, in many regions there are powerful heat power plants and highly-developed metallurgical enterprises, which produce sideline products alongside with basic output. The issue of complex utilization of wastes produced by power engineering and metallurgy has not been successfully resolved yet. Slag and other silica-containing sideline products of main production have not practically been used to the full. Nevertheless, it’s necessary to note, that disperse condition of silica-containing wastes as well as their physical and chemical characteristics predetermine prospective application of silica-containing materials in ceramics.

Abstract: A flow diagram of complex concentration of polymetallic manganese-containing ores of the Altai-Sayan new deposits is developed. Process conditions of recovery of valuable components by chemical concentration are determined. The results of use of high-quality concentrates of manganese, ferrum and nickel at manufacture of steel and metallic manganese are included.

Abstract: The paper gives consideration to nitrogen behavior when blowing steel with gaseous nitrogen through bottom and submersible tuyeres. Positive effect of nitrogen on physical and mechanical characteristics of rails is determined provided that nitrogen concentration doesn’t exceed 0.025%. This effect is possible due to formation of high-melting vanadium carbides.

Abstract: 12Kh18N10T (foreign counterpart AISI 321) and 20Kh13 (foreign counterpart AISI 420) steel plates were welded using a conventional VDU-506 electronic arc welder and a Handy TIG 180 AC/DC Control Pro inverter. We determined regression equations describing the content correlation of chromium, nickel and manganese in the weld metal with the value of the heat input of the heat source. The type of the heat source has almost no influence on the extent of alloying elements transition into the weld metal (within the measurement accuracy) apart from using CL-9 electrodes.

Abstract: The article is devoted to the modes of getting copper powder materials by the method of electroerosion dispersion from waste of an electrotechnical copper wire of an aquatic environment. The results of determination of an average size of powder particles, forms and morphology of copper powder particles and the chemical composition of a powder.

Abstract: The effect on the deposited metal structure of nanostructured modifiers introduced into the weldpool has been studied. Methods have been developed for determining the concentration of nanostructured powders of tungsten, molybdenum and Al2O3 in protective gas and for defining their optimal concentration. The influence of nanopowders on the structure of deposited metal was examined in consumable electrode arc welding employing the austenitic steel (chemical composition: C – 0,12%, Cr – 18%, Ni – 10%,Ti – 1%) as deposit and 1.2-mm welding wire manufactured from the austenitic steel (chemical composition: C – 0,12%, Cr – 18%, Ni – 9%,Ti – 1%). Addition of nanostructured powders of tungsten, molybdenum and Al2O3 to the weldpool has shown positive effect on the structure of metal in arc welding. It is shown that introducing the powders decreases dendrite size and leads to the formation of a more equilibrium microstructure of the weld.

Abstract: An analysis of existing methods of determining temperature range of maximum efficiency of hard alloy cutting blades, made of hard tool alloys. Means of determining and establishing of maximum efficiency temperature for hard alloy cutting blades, based on electrical conduction capacity, are stated below. There are also adduced the results of research on four different hard tool alloys from WC-Co hard-metals group.

Abstract: The authors developed a new class of multilayer materials that feature high corrosion resistance in halogenide-containing media. Corrosion resistance is provided by the multilayer structure. The principle of “sacrificial pitting protection” was formulated. The corrosion resistance tests were carried out. Explosive welding technology was introduced for fabrication of multilayer materials. It is suggested to use the multilayer materials as a structural material in construction of reservoirs for liquid radioactive waste.

Abstract: The aim of the article is to research of the multilayer corrosion resistant material with «sacrificial pitting protection». The original chemical and electrochemical methods were developed for investigation of multilayer corrosion resistant material. It has been found that the size of free pitting corrosion zone is depending on the square of internal protection. The 12X18H10T steel’s potential change on the distance from the protector was measured. Results of research confirmed principle of “sacrificial pitting protection” and determined the direction of further tests.
